The wife of the state Governor, Chief Mrs Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru, has said that she is working in partnering with Non-Governmental Organisations, Civil Society group, Faith-based organizations and other support groups, as part of promoting an inclusive government in Ebonyi, Chief Mrs. Nwifuru disclosed this when representatives of NGOs, CSOs, VO's, Faith-based Organizations, and support groups in the State, led by Dr Offor Okorie, paid her a courtesy visit in her office at Government House, Centenary City, Abakaliki. The first lady noted that civil societies, Faith-based organizations and NGOs are critical change agent to the service of humanity and development, stating that partnering with them will help in tackling complex challenges faced by women, children and the vulnerable in the state. The first lady, also appreciated their efforts in sustaining the advocacy drive down to the grassroots reiterating that her office will continue to uplift the welfare of the people and deliver good results to the women and the entire state. In his remark, the group leaders Dr. Offor Okorie, said their visit was aimed at seeking partnership and the full support of the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon Ogbonna Nwifuru and First Lady, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru, to enable them synergize on ways to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Okorie further pledged the group's unalloyed support to work with the Nwifuru administration so as to achieve improved livelihood of women and children in the state. He advised that regular supervision be carried out on the the newly appointed cabinet members to make sure they discharge their duties in line with the programmes and policies of the State government.
