The Senator representing the good people of Ebonyi North District, Chief Barr Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi (Ohamadike 1) said Senator David Nweze Umahi played a vital role in his political career; particularly, from 2007 to 2023.
Senator Nwebonyi made the commendation when Ebonyi State government massively celebrated Senator Umahi at 60 and his ministerial appointment held at the Presidential Lodge, Centenary City, Abakaliki.
He further described the celebrant as a father of all and destiny helper to some many people, specially the youths.
Senator Nwebonyi said 'Senator Umahi singlehandedly picked me some time in 2007 and made me Ex-officio of our dear party, PDP, for the entire southeast. Shortly after he assumed office as the governor of Ebonyi State, he appointed me Coordinator of my Development Centre.
Seven months later, he elevated me to State PDP Chairman at the age of 28 years'.
'His Excellency, didn't stop at that, when we left PDP to APC, I didn't rest a day he appointed me Commissioner, a pioneer Commissioner for capital territory and urban development'.
'His Excellency did not stop at that; in 2023 general election, he saw to my being to the Senate and today I'm one of the youngest senators of Federal Republic of Nigeria. Who could have done this for me, he is my destiny helper and I will not disappoint him' Senator Nwebonyi said.
